Overview
PIKO's new battery R/C sound-equipped GE 25-Ton locomotive uses original design documentation and authentic sound files recorded from the prototype. This model includes a custom TCS WOWSound® decoder with factory-preset configuration which includes sounds for horn, bell, prime mover, air compressor, brake release, and brake application.
Loaded with prototypical features, the GE 25-Ton locomotive from PIKO brings all the sights and sounds of GE's iconic rumble to your layout.

R/C operation
The power switch for the locomotive is located under the left side of the cab floor. When turned on, the locomotive will ignite the prime mover and the lights will come on. Pressing the "up" or "down" arrows on the remote will cause the locomotive to move in the requested direction. Further presses, or holding the button will cause a more rapid speed change. The "I" will toggle the bell on or off. The "II" button activates the playable horn. Pressing both directional arrows at once will activate the emergency stop.
New Sound Features
The Venture Cab Car features a "high beam" headlight, positioned centrally on the front of the engine below the two primary headlights. According to the Siemens Venture Cab Car Operations Manual, the high beam function can only be turned on when the headlight is active and not dimmed. TCS has implemented automatic and manual control modes for the high beam. The factory default is set to automatic control (CV180 bit 2 is ON). In automatic mode the high beam will behave as described in the Siemens manual. When Function 5 in Light Mode is activated, the high beam will turn on only when the headlight is active and not dim. If Function 5 in Light Mode is turned off, the high beam will remain off regardless of current headlight state. In manual control mode (CV180 bit 2 is OFF), headlight status has no effect on the high beam. The high beam is controlled manually by the throttle button 5 in Light Mode.

The values outlined below in the button mapping, sound list, and CV values are the defaults assigned to this particular decoder from the factory.

Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing issues with your PIKO GE 25-Ton Diesel - G, the following troubleshooting tips may help. If not, PIKO technical support can be contacted with the information below.
- If the locomotive is unresponsive and the cab light is off:
- Make sure the 'AAA' batteries are fully charged
- Check that the power switch is flipped in the "on" position. Be aware that the power switch has two "off" positions and only one "on" position.
- If the radio control is acting erratic or the playable horn is no longer playable:
- Replace the CR2025 battery in the pocket remote.
- The CR2025 battery in the pocket remote is low if the the red light blinks instead of staying on solid when a button is held.
- Make sure the 'AAA' batteries are fully charged. We have found that using 1100mAh NiMH rechargeable batteries gives superior performance compared with standard alkaline batteries.
- Cab light is on but the locomotive does not make sound.
- After several minutes of inactivity, the locomotive will play the shutdown sequence and turn the sound off. Any input, including horn, bell, direction, or volume will wake the locomotive.
- Make sure the decoder is "unmuted" using the volume stepper button inside the cab
