CS-105 Database Backup
Overview
The entire database, or memory, of the TCS command station can be backed up or restored using a computer. The database includes information such as the Roster Entries, Consists (members), and Macros.
This page will instruct you on how to create a database backup, as well as how to restore a saved backup. These instructions assume you have already created a JMRI profile for the device you want to backup/restore.

Creating a Database Backup
Follow these steps to create a backup of your command station's database.
- Power on the device you would like to backup and connect it to your computer. For a CS-105, you may use a wired LCC connection or a WiFi connection.
- Open JMRI Panel Pro and select the correct profile for this device and connection mode
- Select "Memory Tool" from the LCC menu
- In the Memory Tool window, use the drop-down box to select the correct device (CS-105 or LT-50)
- In the Memory Tool window, change the "Memory Space:" to 80
- Press the "Get.." button
- In the window that appears, set a file name and location to save the file to
After the database is done being read, the database will be saved to the location you selected as a ".bin" file.
Restoring a Database Backup
Follow these steps to use an existing backup to overwrite your command station's database.
- Power on the device you would like to backup and connect it to your computer. For a CS-105, you may use a wired LCC connection or a WiFi connection.
- Open JMRI Panel Pro and select the correct profile for this device and connection mode
- Select "Memory Tool" from the LCC menu
- In the Memory Tool window, use the drop-down box to select the correct device (CS-105 or LT-50)
- In the Memory Tool window, change the "Memory Space:" to 80
- Press the "Put.." button
- In the window that appears, select the saved .bin file you would like to restore
After a few moments, the database file you selected will be completely restored.
